A week ago I said I loved Mondays. I stand by that feeling. Monday rolled around again and that meant the completion of the saga of the floors. There were a couple of attempts to seal the floor over the weekend, but to no avail. Today, all 3 coats were applied and with a little bit of fine sanding, voila, we are done with the floors.
The color turned out to be fantastic. Absolutely gorgeous. The pics don’t fully capture the shades of gray and brown, but in the end we couldn’t be happier. So to recap:
The floors are a combination of two custom mixes. One was a high ratio of white to black stain. The second was equal parts white to black. 2 coats of high gloss poly and the last poly coat was a satin finish completed the process.
We are thisclose to wrapping things up. Wednesday is when appliances are installed. In between now and Friday final touch ups should be underway.
I’m out for the next couple of days. So ya’ll are going to have to hang in there just like me.
